Child Safety Policy

Last updated: 2026-04-29

CEFR Tales is built for safe English reading practice. Child safety is handled through age bands, CEFR control, input filtering, output scanning and adult-supervised use.

Safety principles

Content must be age-appropriate, emotionally safe, non-graphic and educational.

Stories must avoid violence, horror, sexual/romantic content, drugs, alcohol, gambling, self-harm, hate, partisan politics and real public figures in fictional scenarios.

Personal information rules

Children should not enter full names, addresses, phone numbers, social handles, exact school names, class numbers, identity numbers or other contact/location details.

Production builds should add stronger personal-data detection and a reporting/deletion channel for parents, guardians and schools.

Moderation and logging

The system checks user inputs and AI outputs for harmful terms and protected IP/franchise terms.

For safety auditing, store prompt version, model name, moderation status, generation time and rejection reasons without collecting unnecessary child data.

Adult and school supervision

Teachers, parents or school administrators should supervise use by children and review generated content before assigning, printing or publishing it.
